The healthcare system often uses these words in its marketing. But do they truly believe in them—and, more importantly, do they put them into practice?
I can’t speak for the healthcare system as a whole, or even for other doulas. What I can speak to is how I practice.
These aren’t just “buzzwords” to me. They are the heart and soul of Embers of Empowerment. They are the core values that guide how I show up for every client, every conversation, and every reproductive journey.
I truly believe that everyone deserves to have a doula by their side, regardless of their circumstances, their choices, their challenges, or what their reproductive journey looks like.
You deserve support that sees you as a whole person—not just your pregnancy, your diagnosis, your birth, your infertility, or your loss.
You deserve to be heard.
You deserve to be respected.
You deserve to make informed choices.
You deserve compassionate, nonjudgmental support.
And most importantly, you deserve to know that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
